Welcome to Mandy, our newest Board member!
The EnergyCare Board of Directors recently welcomed a new member to their ranks – Amanda “Mandy” LaBrier. Mandy first came to us as a weatherization volunteer, and recently decided she wanted to be more involved in our mission. Please read on to hear Mandy’s own thoughts on EnergyCare and her involvement with us. Welcome, Mandy!
My goal is to help Energy Care develop, grow and broaden outreach initiatives in Missouri. I believe that energy efficiency and reduction in energy consumption are key solutions to addressing a variety of public policy issues that impact economic, environmental and social sustainability.
Energy Care’s mission focuses on serving those who need help the most with creating energy efficiency in their home to better their personal situation. This effort advances individuals in need and collectively serves a broader sense of responsibility. Combined, the work of Energy Care is simply positive.
After completing the CORO Women in Leadership Program with FOCUS St. Louis this past spring, I wanted to utilize my professional experience and graduate degree in Public Policy Administration and my research emphasis in Environmental and Natural Resource Policy, along with my Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management to assist a nonprofit organization with awareness, community outreach and fundraising.
Joining Energy Care’s Board is an honor. I’m blessed to be able to work on behalf of an outstanding organization with such a dedicated team of staff and fellow Board member who truly care. I am hopeful that my participation will advance Energy Care’s mission and most of all create opportunities to provide services to those who need it most.
