Executive Director
EnergyCare Executive Director Tim O’Dea is a non-profit management professional with more than 20 years of experience in developing and managing collaborative projects, producing both program and fiscal accountability, and creating innovative strategies involving staff, consultants, partner agencies, board members, researchers, and funders.
Services Supervisor
Jana Ngugi is EnergyCare’s Services Supervisor. Jana is a graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with a minor in social work. Before her employment by EnergyCare, she acquired several years’ experience in human services delivery through her volunteer work with Joint Neighborhood Ministries and Isaiah 58 Ministries, both in St. Louis. In these volunteer experiences, she had direct contact with low-income clients, collecting intake information and assisting clients in applying for utility assistance as well as maintaining contact with the utilities to make assistance pledges and check the status of applications.
Development Director
Melanie has 15 years of experience in fundraising and communications and has worked with the United Way of Greater St. Louis, American Red Cross Missouri, and Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis. She holds a Master’s in Public Policy Administration and Nonprofit Management from University of Missouri St. Louis and a BA in English and Women and Gender Studies from Saint Louis University. Additionally, her specialty in digital applications will help make reporting for grants and our own internal purposes more useful and easier to accomplish with our staff size.
Service Provider
Jonathan Steinke is EnergyCare’ Service Provider who processes in-coming phone calls from clients, determines eligibility, makes home visits, delivers and installs energy-related materials, weatherizes clients’ homes and field questions or concerns from clients.
Volunteers can help with weatherization of our client homes, preparation of Weatherization kits and direct mailer and lead Weatherization groups.
We install home weatherization materials, setup portable heaters and electric blankets, or simply give out standard blankets for immediate warmth. For the heat we install window air conditioners.
