Join the Board

EnergyCare seeks prospective volunteer Board Members like you – people who care about the plight of our low-income neighbors and who want to make a difference in our community.

Aside from an affinity for our mission, EnergyCare looks for a number of qualities in Board Members: evidence of leadership abilities; ability to commit time or financial resources; ability to provide relevant perspectives or expertise; willingness to lever contacts and connections in the community; and those with specialty skills, such as lawyers, doctors, accountants etc. Of course, no individual Board Member can offer all of these things, but between us we can get the job done!

Board Members attend bimonthly meetings of the Board of Directors (i.e. 6 per year). They generally serve on a committee, which meets regularly, or on an ad hoc basis, depending on the nature of the committee. Board Members support the organization financially by giving to the best of their ability (no fixed level).

Board Members act as advocates for EnergyCare in the community and actively try to engage the community with EnergyCare’s mission. Board Members are also able to volunteer in a number of capacities (e.g. helping to weatherize homes) as they wish.

If you are interested in joining the board then please contact the Development Office.
