EnergyCare is now in a stronger financial position and is helping more and more vulnerable people in St. Louis thanks to supporters …
Our founder Sister Pat, known as Patsy by her loving family and personal friends, lived her life as a true humanitarian. Her purpose was ”to take God and his love to the poorest of the poor, irrespective of their ethnic origin or their faith.” Sister Pat showed St. Louis a thoughtful perspective–that most of our everyday problems are nothing to be compared with the burdens of trying to survive on a limited, fixed income and still keep you and your family safe. Insufficient incomes force the elderly and the poor to continue to make choices between heating or eating, heating or paying the rent, heating or buying vital medicine.
EnergyCare’s founder believed that discernment of aid is not just based on belief but a necessity. Sister Pat would often quote Mother Teresa, “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”
EnergyCare staff captured a first hand impression of our founder from her dear friend and fellow Sister of Charity of the Incarnate Word; “this is the kind of lady she was, she was as comfortable in a very elegant boardroom with very rich people as a very poor little shed with the poorest of people, she was just always herself and welcoming and respectful to everybody.” Visit our homepage to view the Sister Eileen O’Keefe interview in its entirety.
EnergyCare continues to strive to promote Sister Pat’s vision as we move forward. Help us grow Sister Pat’s vision and donate today.
