As the population of the city ages, the demand for EnergyCare services continues to increase. EnergyCare’s services allow seniors to age in place by keeping their homes safer (cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter). Many of our clients live in substandard housing, often with years of deferred maintenance. But most still want to stay living in their own homes as long as they can.
Through a partnership with the Senior Fund, EnergyCare will help improve energy efficiency and also address broader issues including aging in place, energy poverty, better energy conservation and vacancy prevention. EnergyCare delivers these services through a growing collaborative strategy that leverages EnergyCare funding for utility assistance, enhanced weatherization, A/C units, heaters and blankets with leveraged expertise from partner agencies.
